“Nancy Donovan’s latest book, In the Valley of the Dragons, is an ecology-based fantasy. It is sure to delight young readers with their curious minds. Nancy has a love of nature and a talent for writing. She has combined these interests to create an environment that not only engages children’s imaginations, but helps them understand the world around them.”

—Rosemary Hanley, library assistant

In the Valley of the Dragons took my daughters and me to a wonderful imaginary land where we learned to respect our earth, and how to care for it so that others coming after us may enjoy the benefits of a healthy planet.”

—Emer Murphy, elementary school teacher, and parent of Emily, 11yrs, and Aoibheann, 7yrs

“I love this book and it teaches me how to take care of the world.”

— Aoibheann Murphy, 7yrs

“Nancy Donovan has done it again! This book makes learning fun and environmental concerns easier to understand. Kids and adults will enthusiastically follow Lauren’s adventures and quickly grasp the importance of caring for our earth’s resources. Parents and teachers will find a wide variety of ways to expand children’s thinking/questioning. The story easily lends itself to extended discussions about history, science, environment, vocations, friendship and family to name a few. This is a book I’ll have in my library to read and recommend over and over!”

—Barb Renda 36 years teaching elementary special-education.
