Gloria Gustafson is well known in her home state for her detailed realistic interpretations of local landscapes and has found critical recognition for her expressionist paintings as well. She began painting and drawing as a child. As an adult, she took classes from many well-known artists for over twenty years, absorbing various approaches to art.

She is a life-long Maine resident.
